Au nanocrystal anchored In2O3 hollow nanospheres have been fabricated, which show good activity for N2 photofixation into ammonia. Such peculiar hollow microstructures favor light harvesting and N2 chemosorption, both of which are further strengthened in the presence of Au nanocrystals. Charge separation in In2O3 has also been improved by anchoring Au nanocrystals.
