In the presence of NaOt Bu, [Cp*IrCl₂]₂‐catalyzed reaction of arylacetonitriles with secondary alcohols was performed to yield α‐monoalkylation products of arylacetonitriles. The catalyst and conditions also suited for the α‐monoalkylation of arylacetonitriles with primary alcohols.
