Abstract

This review reports the progress on the recent development of electrokinetic micromixers. The basic governing equation and principle of operation of electrokinetic micromixers are narrated to show a preliminary understanding. Electrokinetic micromixers that are the focus of this work are analyzed and discussed according to modeling, simulation and experiment. A variety of micromixers designed containing electrodes are expounded and analyzed. This paper will provide a valuable reference to designers who research electrokinetic micromixers for various applications.
