The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Standards Committee (APS/SC) is responsible for the development and maintenance of standards related to the field of antennas and propagation. The IEEE Standards Association Standards Board (SASB) updated the maintenance process for IEEE standards in January 2012. Since then, an IEEE standard document, which includes a standard, recommendation, or guide, may remain continuously active only if a revision process for that standard is completed and approved within 10 years from the date that the standard was approved or last revised. A project authorization request (PAR) for the revision of IEEE Standard 145-2013, IEEE Standard for Definitions of Terms for Antennas [1], was therefore prepared and submitted to the IEEE SASB New Standards Committee (NesCom). The PAR was approved by the SASB NesCom on 7 November 2019 [2], and it is valid until 31 December 2023.
