Capabilities of Seismic Equipment in Assessing the State of Railway Embankments

Abstract

The paper considers the relationship between the supporting subsoil of the roadbed and the parameters of seismic records of train movements. Experimental examples and mathematical modeling show that when processing seismic records, it is possible to detect at an early stage changes in the supporting roadbed subsoil due to possible degradation in the strength and deformation properties soils. Practical problems of using various seismic sensors and their location for railway roadbed modeling are considered.
