Hydrothermal and Electrochemical Synthesis of MoS 2 Nanoparticles and Characterization of the Latter

Abstract

The characteristic features of the hydrothermal synthesis of molybdenum sulfide nanoparticles, using Na2MoO4 as the molybdenum precursor and thioacetamide as the sulfur precursor, at a synthesis temperature of 220°C, and of electrochemical synthesis—anodic formation of nanoparticles from MoS2 single crystals by electrolysis in an ionic liquid—are described. The X-ray fluorescence, optical absorption, and photoluminescence spectroscopy methods were applied for characterization of the nanoparticles produced.
