Abstract A mathematical model is proposed for the rigidity of a triaxial parallel machine tool. The structure of the machine tool is resolved into components. A simulation algorithm is outlined, as well as a general system of mathematical equations for calculating the axial rigidity of a triaxial parallel machine tool.
