As A KID, LARRY HERBST LOVED TINKERING. Naturally enough for someone like that, he trained as an electrical engineer. But early on he decided that a career in engineering might end up forcing him to focus more narrowly than he would like. So after graduating from Brown University, he changed course and studied filmmaking. Ever since, he's made his living as a filmmaker and videographer, and he has no regrets. "Film gave me an opportunity to do a lot of extraordinary things," he explains.
