Oxytrifluoromethylthiolation of 2,3‐Allenoates with Trifluoromethanesulfinyl Chloride: A Synthetic Approach to Trifluoromethylthiolated 4‐Oxo‐2(E)‐alkenoates and Furans

The trifluoromethylthiolation‐based bifunctionalization of 2,3‐allenoates is demonstrated. Using trifluoromethanesulfinyl chloride as cheap and easily available SCF3 source, trifluoromethylthiolated 4‐oxo‐2(E)‐alkenoate and furan derivatives were synthesized via oxytrifluoromethylthiolation under different conditions, respectively. A possible mechanism was proposed based on reaction results and control experiments.
