Abstract

Generations of children and adults alike have been using language games as a fun way to secretly communicate. These language games, also known as ludlings, are also used by criminals in furtherance of their crimes. In response, the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia assembled a team to study these systems and assist law enforcement agencies in the decryption of ludlings. This paper explains the most common English ludling systems encountered by the FBI.
