Hyponatraemia predicts type 1 cardiorenal syndrome in acute decompensated heart failure patients, which associates with poor outcome. Recovery from hyponatraemia has been found to associate with better outcome in acute decompensated heart failure patients, but its prognostic value regarding renal function remains unknown.
