Influences of quantum fluctuation on superfluorescent spectra observed by single-shot measurement for semiconductor quantum dots

Fluctuations in superfluorescence were evaluated for a CuCl quantum dot assembly in a NaCl single crystal by measuring single superfluorescent spectra. The distributions of the spectral widths and peak intensities of the individual spectra were obtained as a function of the excitation density. The result showed that fluctuations decrease with an increase in excitation density due to the rapid establishment of coherent coupling between the quantum dots, which suppresses the fluctuation in superfluorescence. Based on the results of our study, influences of quantum fluctuations on the generation of macroscopic coherence can be evaluated.
