Effect of Heat Treatment on the Structure, Phase Composition, and Wear Resistance of Thermal Spray Coatings of the Pseudoalloy 08G2S + AK12

Abstract

The article investigates the structural phase state of a thermal spray coating of the pseudoalloy 08G2S + AK12, sprayed by high-speed metallization in the initial state and after heat treatment at 510, 530, and 550°C over the course of 1 h. It is established that deposition of the pseudoalloy 08G2S + AK12 leads to the formation of a coating with low FeO and Fe3O4 contents. It is shown that the sprayed coating has a wear resistance 3.6 times higher than a 08G2S steel coating. Subsequent annealing of 08G2S + AK12 coatings at 510, 530 and 550°C leads to the release of the intermetallic phases Al5Fe2 and AlFe3 and 2.7-fold higher wear resistance of the coatings under dry friction compared to untreated 08G2S + AK12. Heat treatment of the sprayed pseudoalloy at 530°C increases its wear resistance under boundary friction conditions by up to 1.35 times compared to the initial state.
