Abstract A lifting motor pump for deep-sea mining was proposed as a researching object. First, the structure and design method of this pump was introduced. Second, the simulating computations of the impeller in this pump were conducted at different working processes. Finally, the experiment of a two-stage lifting motor pump was conducted in the process of work to prove the applicability of this new lifting motor pump for deep-sea mining.
