The reaction of methyl ester C-11, C-15 bis-TBDPS derivative of cloprostenol with DAST in CH2Cl2 at −78 °C followed by warming to room temperature results in a product of SN2-substitution at C-9, elimination to give a Δ8,9-olefine, and epimeric 9-deoxy-C-8 fluorides. The reaction products were separated by TLC and HPLC methods. After unblocking the TBDPS protective groups, the antiaggregatory and uterotonic properties of the resulting compounds were studied.
