This article proposes a compact spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) transmission line, by introducing capacitive loading metal strips to manipulate the dispersion characteristics and electromagnetic field confinement. Results validate that, compared with conventional rectangular‐grooved SSPP structure, the proposed SSPP transmission line features a line‐width reduction up to 53%, and moreover a tighter field confinement, that is, 67% reduction of confinement area. This proposed structure can be further implemented in silicon process with multiple metal layers for on‐chip transmission of terahertz signals.
