Magnetic domain structure of the ${Y_{2}(Fe_{x}Co_{1-x})_{17}}$ compounds

The magnetic domain structure of Y2(Fe$_{x}$Co1–$_{x}$)17 (0.03 < $ x $ < 0.88) intermetallic compounds was investigated via magnetic force microscopy. It is experimentally shown that in the range of $x$ = 0.07 − 0.5, the surface magnetic domain structure of the single crystals reveals domains with typical uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy configuration. The values of the surface energy density of the domain walls in these samples vary from 21.9 × 10−3 to 31.7 × 10−3 J/m2. The surface domain structure of Y2(Fe$_{x}$Co1–$_{x}$)17 ($ x $ > 0.5) single crystals with easy-plane-type anisotropy is described.
