The paper by Mohile et al addressing the care of patients with malignant gliomas in the midst of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic raises many important and critical points. In the absence of enough evidence-based data for guidance, they have done an excellent job of providing a timely and commonsense approach to patient management which considers the higher risk among cancer patients should they become infected with the virus.¹ Using a combination of established standards of care, published data enabling risk to benefit considerations and recognizing the role of clinical trials for recurrent malignant gliomas, the authors have created a very useful set of guidelines for these patient populations.
