The optimal electrolyte system and cut-off voltage range of V3O7·H2O (HVO) electrode are confirmed. The layered-structure HVO cathode displays high capacity and excellent cycle stability. The Zn2+ storage mechanism is recognized as a highly reversible (de)intercalation reaction.
