While the original published version presented the methods of polymicrobial biofilm formation in the Results section, more detailed methods are presented here as requested by a reader. For the dual-species biofilm formation of C. albicans and S. aureus, C. albicans cells (23 ± 3 × 105 CFU) cells and S. aureus cells (59 ± 4 × 107 CFU) were inoculated at the same time in a mixture of 50% potato dextrose broth and 50% LB medium and incubated in 96-well polystyrene plates (total 300 μL/well, SPL Life Sciences, Korea) at 37 °C for 24 h without agitation. For the dual-species biofilm formation of the C. albicans and A. baumannii models, C. albicans cells (23 ± 3 × 105 CFU) and A. baumannii cells (87 ± 13 × 107 CFU) were inoculated at the same time in a mixture of 50% potato dextrose broth and 50% trypticase soy broth and incubated in 96-well polystyrene plates (total 300 μL/well) at 37 °C for 24 h without agitation.
