Belief and fairness: A secure two-party protocol toward the view of entropy for IoT devices

Internet of Things (IoT) devices strive to maximize their utilities and preserve security of IoT system within limited capacity. In effect, these kinds of devices can be resumed to be rational devices toward the view of game theory. Previous utilities inherit the definitions deriving from quintessential games (e.g. prisoner's dilemma game). However, they are criticized for either arbitrary or elaboration. In this paper, we circumvent the criticism by devising a new utility function based on beliefs and entropy, which are extracted from IoT devices (e.g. signals). The new utility function dwarfs others in terms of practicability. In addition, we present a general rational information exchange protocol and define the utilities based on entropy formally especially in the key round. Furthermore, we compare the utilities with existing ones with similar conclusions. That is, our formal utility definitions are equivalent to previous ones. To the best of our knowledge, it's the first time to relate utilities with entropy and meanwhile achieve desirable security properties.
