Influence of annealing temperature of ZnS-coated TiO2 films on the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells

This work deals with ZnS-coated TiO2 films prepared via liquid phase deposition and immersion techniques and then applied as photoanode of dye-sensitized solar cells. The samples underwent annealing treatment at various annealing temperatures. The morphology of TiO2 is nanograss and covered by agglomerate and hexagonal ZnS layer. The anatase crystallite size, absorption peak wavelength and optical reflectance increase with annealing temperature. However, the energy gap decreases with the temperature. The device utilizing the sample annealed at 400 °C performed the highest η of 0.24 % due to this device owns the lowest leak current and the longest carrier lifetime.
