The exposed amino acids on protein skeleton control protein adsorption on surface-engineered silver nanoparticles

Adsorption of protein on the surface of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) could be controlled by modulating the surface using cyclodextrins (CDs). The CD nanocavities were tactically arranged over the Ag NPs with the help of surfactants. Two different model proteins, one with an exposed tryptophan residue and the other with the amino acid (tryptophan) captivated inside the folded structure, showed different motifs of surface adsorption based on host-guest interactions.
