A new silver-organic coordination polymer: Synthesis, crystal structure, fluorescence and antibacterial activity

Abstract A new silver-organic coordination polymer, [Ag2L2]n (1) (HL = 5-(2-pyridyl)-1H-tetrazole), was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The structure was characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR and TGA. In compound 1, the 1D chains are linked into a 3D supramolecular structure via hydrogen bonding and π…π interactions. The luminescent properties have been investigated. Moreover, the antibacterial properties of compound 1 against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria have also been investigated.
