Synergy Derived from Bimetal Co−Cu in Phosphate to Enables Ultrafast Catalytic Hydrogenated Activity in Nitrophenol Reduction

Herein, we report Co−Cu bimetal integrated phosphate catalyst, unexpectedly enables ultrafast catalytic reduction of 4‐nitrophenol within 40 s by right of the synergy of bimetals. Impressively, the reaction induction period observed might indicate the deoxygenation of metal oxide units in phosphate, however, which was eliminated using bimetal (Co−Cu) phosphate at 30 °C and 40 °C. The calculated reaction rate constant is 4.78 min−1 at 30 °C, which exhibits a very high superiority compared to other reported cobalt‐based catalysts. This study offers the possibility for the ultrafast catalytic reduction and elimination of toxic nitrophenol using efficient‐cost transition metal catalysts.
