Masked: Donor–acceptor cyclopropanes undergo a cycloaddition reaction with ketenedithioacetals under Lewis acid catalysis. Cleavage of the dithiane unit leads to cyclopentanones. As a result of this two‐step process, formally an acceptor‐substituted ketene is inserted into the three‐membered ring system.
