The number of available services in mobile devices has increased continuously over the past several years. Applications such as the 5G cellular network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS are standard in modern devices. As a result, RF front-end requirements have become increasingly complex. To save money and space, it can make sense to use one front end for several services, which requires components with an increased bandwidth. Because of the high bandwidth used, the filtering of unwanted signals is no longer possible in many cases. This makes a high linearity of active components, such as amplifiers and mixers, even more important as they can become sensitive to intermodulation. In addition, the power consumption of the components must be as low as possible since today's users demand long battery life from their mobile devices. Therefore, wideband low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) with a high linearity and low input power are required.
