Switchable Polarization Beam Splitter Based on GST-on-Silicon Waveguides

How to realize a silicon-based polarization beam splitter (PBS) with dynamically reconfigurable properties and excellent performance is a vital challenge. Here, we propose a high-performance non-volatile switchable PBS using GST-on-silicon waveguides. Over the C-band, the crosstalk (CT) is lower than ???23.40??dB and polarization extinction ratio (PER) is larger than 21.35??dB for the amorphous GST, while the CT is smaller than ???27.37??dB and PER is greater than 21.37??dB for the crystalline GST.
