We consider ground states of the drifting Schrödinger equation $i{u}_t-\Delta u+\nabla h\cdot \nabla u=\lambda V{\left|u\right|}^{p-1}u$ (where $p>1+\frac{2}{N}$ and $(N-2)p<N+2$) on the space $R^N$. Here $h$ is a negative function on $R^N$ and $V$ is a nontrivial nonnegative function on $R^N$. Under some restriction on the smooth functions $V$ and $h$, we prove existence results about ground states of related nonlinear problems and principal eigen-functions.
