Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is an autosomal dominant syndrome caused by a germline mutation of the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene. Several extracolonic lesions, especially gastric lesions including fundic gland polyp (FGP), adenoma roughly corresponding to low-grade dysplasia, and adenocarcinoma, have been frequently associated with FAP.
