Modeling of the Mass Transfer of Steel Corrosion Products in Sodium Loops

The problems associated with the corrosion of steel in sodium are examined. Equations including the physical constants characterizing mass transfer in the sodium–steel–impurity system are presented. The solution of the system of equations makes it possible to calculate the distribution of the dissolved components and suspensions in sodium flow. The source of the dispersed phase in the coolant fl ow is evaluated. A list of the constants used is presented. The presented constants must be refi ned in future work.
