A New Co(II)-Based Coordination Polymer for Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Dyes and Protective Effect on Spinal Cord Injury by Increasing trka Receptor Gene Expression on the NSCs

By using a light-harvesting organic ligand tris(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)amine (TIPA), a new Co(II)-based coordination polymer (1) with the chemical formula of [Co2(TIPA)2(Tz)][Co(TIPA)(NO3)(H2O)]·4NO3·2DMA·2H2O has been generated via reaction of Co(NO3)2·6H2O with the tetrazole (Tz) ligands and TIPA in water and DMA mixed solvent under the conditions of solvothermal. Significantly, complex 1 is capable of photodegradation of the organic dyes with the existence of hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet irradiation (λ = 254 nm). Furthermore, the mechanism of photocatalytic degradation of the organic dyes is studied. In biological research, we aimed to develop the compound which could increase the protective effect of NGF on NSCs during the treatment of spinal cord injury. The RT-PCR was performed to evaluate the trka receptor gene expression on the NSCs. The western was used to evaluate the activation for signaling pathway of PI3K/Akt in NSCs after compound treatment.
