Abstract Trace metal distribution and speciation studies in hypersaline systems are scarce because of the difficulty in measuring low metal concentrations in high salinity (S) waters. In this study, dissolved molybdenum (MoD) was measured in samples collected in the hypersaline Ojo de Liebre Lagoon and evaporation ponds of the Guerrero Negro saltern, Baja California Peninsula, Mexico.
