Growth of BaBrI Crystals by the Czochralski Method

BaBrI crystals activated by rare-earth-metal ions are promising scintillation materials. In this work, were research the aspects of growing such crystals by the Czochralski method. This method makes it possible to grow single crystals and to avoid crystallization processes from the crucible walls. The Czochralski method may be the best way to obtain an affordable and controlled growth of large crystals. This method allows crystals to grow at different rates, depending on the conditions.
