Abstract The behavior during hot deformation of a new Si-Cr-Ni-Mn-V-Ti-Nb die steel in the temperature range of 450–750 °C was studied. The true stress-strain curves for the steel during hot compressive deformation were plotted. It has been experimentally shown that the steel is prone to hot hardening.
