The Effect of TiO2 Catalyst on Ozone and Nitrous Oxide Production by Dielectric Barrier Discharge

The aim of present study was to investigate the influence of oxygen percentage (1–80%), temperature (20 and 100 °C) and the addition of TiO2 catalyst on the production of ozone O3 and nitrous oxide N2O by DBD. The production efficiency of O3 increased with O2 percentage while the production efficiency of N2O had a maximum at approximately 20% of O2. The production of O3 slightly decreased with the increase of temperature while the production of N2O increased. The presence of TiO2 considerably increased the production efficiency of N2O production. The O3 production efficiency was enhanced by TiO2 at 20 °C and reduced at 100 °C.
