AbstractThis article follows a simpler approach (Siddiqui et al.2011, Chin. Phys. Lett. 28, 050401) using foliation’s concept with virtual displacement of hyper-surfaces near the event horizon to derive the first law of black hole thermodynamics for the Kerr black hole spacetime.
