Multi‐component reactions (MCRs) have gathered much attention recently due to their superior efficiency, exceptional selectivity and simplicity. Synthesis of various compounds with maximum efficiency and almost zero by‐products are their major highlights. Zinc is an easily accessible, economically feasible and environmentally viable catalyst. This first review in this topic focuses on the developments in zinc‐catalysed multi‐component reactions and covers literature up to 2019.
