Optimizing interfacial electronic coupling with metal oxide to activate inert polyaniline for superior electrocatalytic hydrogen generation

A common strategy of activating hydrogen evolution on the originally inert polyaniline by proper interfacial electronic coupling with metal oxide is reported. Experimental and theoretical calculations show that the d‐π electronic coupling can optimize the electronic structure of polyaniline (PANI) surface at the interfacial N site, leading to the superior electrocatalytic production of hydrogen.
