Amine-selective gas sensor based on organic field-effect transistor with the porphyrin monolayer receptor

Abstract Efficient gas sensors have been designed using a versatile platform based on organic field-effect transistors incorporating a monomolecular film of receptor compounds at the interface between the semiconductor and dielectric layers. Using a substituted porphyrin as a receptor component allowed us to increase substantially sensitivity of the sensors and induce group selectivity with respect to ammonia and substituted amines. Designed devices demonstrated good operational stability and might be used for food quality control and have also a potential in medical diagnostics in the context of analysis of exhailed air components.
