Experimental investigation on fluorescence polarization properties of isomerical MOF⊃RhB crystals

We investigated the fluorescence polarization properties of tetragonal crystal system MOFTCS⊃RhB (metal-organic framework, MOF) and hexagonal crystal system MOFHCS⊃RhB, where the RhB molecules were loaded into the crystals via the activated adsorption or in-situ method. Both MOFs used terephthalic acid and triethyl diamine as the organic ligands, and Zn2+ as the metal ion, but were synthesized at different temperatures. In the activated adsorption method, the isomerical MOF crystals were prepared via the solvothermal reaction, then the RhB molecules were loaded via the activated adsorption reaction. In the in-situ method, the RhB molecules were loaded simultaneously during the synthesis of MOF. Excrement results show that the polarization rates of MOFTCS⊃RhBs are larger than those of MOFHCS⊃RhBs. Also, the polarization rate of the in-situ synthesized MOF⊃RhB was larger than that of MOF⊃RhB prepared by the activated absorption method. In our results, the in-situ synthesized MOFTCS⊃RhB showed a maximum polarization rate of 4.79.
