Decay estimates for a dissipative-dispersive linear semigroup and application to the viscous Boussinesq equation

Abstract At the core of this article is the new estimate for a class of dissipative-dispersive linear semigroup e Δ t ± i p ( | ∇ | ) t arising in the study of the viscous Boussinesq equation. We combine the decay estimate with introducing a set of time-weighted Sobolev spaces, where the time-weights and the regularity of the Sobolev spaces are determined by our decay estimate, to show the global existence and asymptotic behavior of solutions to the viscous Boussinesq equation in R n .
