The scientific publication procedures as well as the whole field of information processing have changed dramatically within the last decade and will undergo further changes in the next decade. Adapting to these past and future changes and to the reader’s increasing information needs, we made several steps towards the modernization of the Archiv der Pharmazie – Chemistry in Life Sciences. With this edition, the journal will completely move to online publishing, skipping the printed version. This will allow all authors to include colored graphics and numerous other file types, e.g. animated files, in their manuscripts without any additional charges. The authors will provide InChI codes for their new structures, in combination with the structures’ pharmacological properties, thus enhancing the searchoptions and hence increasing the citation rates of their papers.
