A novel class of kojic acid derivatives have been synthesized by a three component decarboxylative coupling of amino acid, aldehyde and kojic acid under thermal conditions. It is an entirely new strategy for the synthesis of 2‐pyrrolidinyl and 2‐piperidinyl kojic acid derivatives.
