DNA-Templated Nanofabrication

This paper reviews recent progress in DNA-templated nanofabrication, focusing on the fabrication of 2D and 3D DNA nanostructures and novel pattern transfer methods. DNA nanotechnology offers unique capabilities that could transform traditional bottom-up nano-fabrication. In the first part of the paper, we highlight progress in the fabrication and assembly of complex DNA nanostructures that could be used as templates for 2D and 3D nanofabrication. In the second part of the paper, we discuss the challenges in pattern transfer from DNA nanostructure template to common substrates. We conclude the paper by discussing bottlenecks and opportunities in this area of research.
