In a bind: Modification of 2‐(p‐anisyl)‐4‐azabenzimidazole (AzaHx) to (p‐pyridyl)‐4‐azabenzimidazole(Pyr‐AzaHx) does not enable the molecule to recognize GG dinucleotides specifically; instead, 3‐Pyr‐AzaHx improves binding affinity, possibly as a result of protonation of the pyrido nitrogen atom.
