Glasses in the NbO2F-BaF2-InF3-ErF3 system

In the paper, the methods of obtaining and studying of glasses in the NbO2F-BaF2-InF3 and NbO2F-BaF2-InF3-ErF3 systems are presented. The effect of indium trifluoride and doping with erbium trifluoride on the thermal characteristics and crystallization of glasses is discussed. The networks of glasses in the systems based on NbO2F are formed by the NbOnFn polyhedra connected by the oxygen bridges. Addition of InF3 into the system leads to formation of InF6 polyhedra which are embedded into the oxyfluoroniobate networks. A contribution of the erbium fluorescence to the inelastic light scattering spectra of the NbO2F-BaF2-InF3-ErF3 system was revealed. An assumption of indium luminescence in the examined glasses was made.
