In addition to holding the nuclear export signal (NES), the role of the disordered Rev C‐terminal domain (CTD) is to stabilize the protein and maintain its active dimeric state. Analysis of the different regions within the disordered CTD showed that different subdomains in it play different, complementary roles in regulation.
