Faster when frozen: The EtNa DNAzyme is active for RNA cleavage under different conditions. Surprisingly, freezing accelerated its cleavage activity in the presence of Na+, but inhibited it in the presence of Ca2+; this is in contrast to most other DNAzymes, which were inhibited by freezing.
