Light‐activated gene silencing: Caged siRNAs, each modified with a single aptamer (AS1411 or MUC‐1), were rationally designed. With these caged siRNAs, photomodulation both of firefly luciferase and of GFP expression in cells was successfully achieved. Further patterning experiments revealed successful light‐activated spatial regulation of GFP expression with use of the aptamer‐caged siRNAs.
